Cristina Navarro · El Paso, Texas

About

Thirteen years photographing weddings, families and milestones in El Paso, Texas — timeless photographs, trusted service, and a camera that stays out of the way.

Approach

Equal parts laid-back and deeply enthusiastic, which turns out to be a useful way to be on a wedding morning. Thirteen years in, the pictures worth keeping are still the ones nobody arranged: the hands going up after the ceremony, the dog that would not sit, the laugh that arrived a second after somebody was told to hold still.

Life doesn't wait for anyone. Whether it is a wedding, a first week at home with a newborn or the last year of school, the work is about preserving the people in it rather than staging them. Coverage is sold by the hour instead of in packages, so a day can be built around what is actually happening in it.

Sessions run at the studio on the east side of El Paso or on location anywhere within forty miles, and weddings reach across El Paso, Las Cruces and the surrounding Southwest. Passport ready for the ones further out — past weddings have travelled to Cancún, Tulum, Marfa, Ruidoso, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas and New York.
